Software Engineer - Night Shift

Our client, a global leader in plastic card manufacturing, is renowned for producing a wide range of products, from standard gift cards to high-tech smart cards. They are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join their dynamic, close-knit team.

Position Details:

  • Full-time 2-year contract with the possibility of permanency
  • Night shift: 10 PM - 6 AM
  • Located in Bayswater

Key Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting daily card personalization activities. This includes configuring machinery, handling system operations, and managing data processing in line with client requirements. Your core duties will include:

  • Supporting daily card personalization and system operations
  • Implementing new products and managing customer change requests
  • Handling daily data processing activities

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Configuring personalization and fulfilment machinery based on product specifications
  • Supporting card and fulfilment processes for secure and non-secure cards
  • Creating and maintaining product specifications and related documentation
  • Ensuring secure handling of customer data in compliance with security guidelines
  • Adhering to client security, quality, and OH&S policies

What You Bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in computer science, electronics, or software engineering
  • While experience in a similar role is advantageous, recent graduates with a passion for software systems and a desire to learn are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in the smartcard industry and chip card personalization is an advantage but not required
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as .NET, VB6, and C#, with an eagerness to develop system configuration and troubleshooting skills
  • A strong understanding or willingness to learn about file/data structures, types, protocols, data security, and encryption
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
