Software Engineer - Night Shift
Our client, a global leader in plastic card manufacturing, is renowned for producing a wide range of products, from standard gift cards to high-tech smart cards. They are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join their dynamic, close-knit team.
Position Details:
- Full-time 2-year contract with the possibility of permanency
- Night shift: 10 PM - 6 AM
- Located in Bayswater
Key Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting daily card personalization activities. This includes configuring machinery, handling system operations, and managing data processing in line with client requirements. Your core duties will include:
- Supporting daily card personalization and system operations
- Implementing new products and managing customer change requests
- Handling daily data processing activities
Additional Responsibilities:
- Configuring personalization and fulfilment machinery based on product specifications
- Supporting card and fulfilment processes for secure and non-secure cards
- Creating and maintaining product specifications and related documentation
- Ensuring secure handling of customer data in compliance with security guidelines
- Adhering to client security, quality, and OH&S policies
What You Bring:
- A tertiary qualification in computer science, electronics, or software engineering
- While experience in a similar role is advantageous, recent graduates with a passion for software systems and a desire to learn are encouraged to apply
- Experience in the smartcard industry and chip card personalization is an advantage but not required
- Familiarity with programming languages such as .NET, VB6, and C#, with an eagerness to develop system configuration and troubleshooting skills
- A strong understanding or willingness to learn about file/data structures, types, protocols, data security, and encryption
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
